The Commonwealth Foundation has been involved in supplying and erecting a multi- purpose building of approximately 300 sq metres in Chidobe Village near Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. This was an exciting project community based project that involved the local community who assisted from the inception to the current stage where it is approximately 50% complete. Rev, Mitchell and Carol Lawrence, South African missionaries to Zimbabwe are currently pioneering and overseeing the project. This couple are serving this community in its development through the assistance of the Commonwealth Foundation members as well as other organizations. They are working to establishing various uses for the building such as a clinic, a crèche, a skills development center and for general community and church meetings.
The project is ongoing and additional resources are still needed to bring it to completion and full operation.
